About Us

The Grenada Co-operative League Limited (GCLL) serves as the apex body for the co-operatives sector, which consists of credit unions and non-financial co-operatives. The League was registered on May 20, 1958 as the parent body for Grenada Credit Unions. This, however, was broadened to incorporate all co-operatives in Grenada. The League currently has ten (10) credit unions and two (2) non-financial co-operatives.

The League operates within a rules-based system covering governance and administration and is owned by its members. The GCLL is governed by the Cooperative Societies Act No. 8 of 2011 and its by-laws. A Board of Directors hires a General Manager who manages the League’s daily operations. The League has nine (9) members of staff.

Each year an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held and is attended by delegates and alternates from its affiliates and observers. Affiliates are presented with reports by the Board for the given year.
